Whitby photos!

A few weeks ago, I think it was May 10th, I went on a Give it a Go trip to Whitby. It's a sea-side town on the northeast coast of England, and the bus ride there took two and a half hours. Like that time I went to Stratford-upon-Avon, I didn't really know anyone who would be going, but I didn't mind... I was very happy exploring on my own.

The weather was very bipolar. At first it was really sunny and warm, so I went to have some lunch on the beach. I'm glad I did that first, because then it started raining... and then it got sunny again. And then it rained. And finally, it was sunny again.

Whitby is probably most known for its old abbey ruins. Apparently Dracula has something to do with Whitby as well!

Barcelona photos!

Finally! Here are some pictures from the trip to Barcelona I did between April 14th and 17th. I went with my friend Ollie and we met her friend Aya at our hostel in Barcelona.

Our hostel was called Olé Barcelona and it was right next to Sagrada Familia - perfect location! The weather wasn't scorching hot, but it was warm enough to wear short sleeves and skirts - and even get a bit sunburnt...

We spent most of our first day on the beach. The sea was cold, but Ollie and I did even swim for a while!

The next day we went to visit Sagrada Familia. Ollie is a big fan of the architect Gaudi, so it was particularly exciting for her.

We even went up to one of the towers. I don't think it shows on my face that I was actually pretty scared...

All in all, it was a great little holiday. For some reason, Spain has never been one of those countries that I absolutely must visit, so it was great to try it out now that I'm a bit closer to it! I'm really glad that I went! And I'm certainly missing that weather...

update!!!

It's been too long since my last post. I'll just write a quick one now to make myself get into it again!

Since Taru was here, I've done lots of great things: I've been to Barcelona for three days, gone on a day trip to Whitby, and had my mum over for three days. I'll make sure to post pictures of all of these events soon!

Today I've finally submitted the last assignments of the spring semester - which means that I'm done with my exchange year in the academic sense! However, I still have about a month left here in England, which I can hopefully spend visiting places I haven't been yet. I don't have flight tickets yet, but it looks like I'll be returning to Finland in early July.

Hopefully I can make myself write again now that I don't have any more schoolwork to do!
