the overtones

On Monday I had the pleasure of attending a concert in the Sheffield City Hall! I've known The Overtones for a few years now so I was happy to see they would be touring the UK this spring. At first I wasn't sure whether I should go, but I might never have the chance again! And I'm so happy that I went!

They have some original songs, but mostly they do covers of older songs like Why Do Fools Fall in Love.
The City Hall is pretty at night!

The warm-up act, Si Cranstoun. He was good, even though he performed for quite a long time...!

There they are!

I also took two videos! They're not very good quality, but a nice memory all the same.

Here is a short clip of "Bare Necessities" from the Jungle Book! The audience was singing along! Bare Necessities

And here is a longer clip of the first song I heard by them. I was so glad that they sung it, even though it's a bit older now!
Gambling Man

After the concert, I even got to talk to one of them a bit when they were giving autographs. However, since I didn't have any "official merchandise" to be signed, I was ushered out by the security men! What a shame, but at least The Overtones seemed really nice, even if I wasn't as impressed with the staff of the concert hall. But it was a lovely experience all in all!
